a pottery learning center in Washington, NC
Heather has been doing pottery since 2008. She grew up in Wilmington, NC and went to East Carolina University where she majored in Art and Art Education, concentrating in ceramics. She graduated from ECU in 2016 and went on to teach art at Chocowinity Middle School for 5 years. From there she went on to work at Arts of the Pamlico in downtown Washington, NC for a year as the Art and Outreach Coordinator where she managed visual art activities and taught pottery classes backstage in the theatre. As AOP is going in a new direction, Heather has opened her very own pottery learning center, Mud in Motion! Heather loves everything about the ceramic world and is so excited to share that love with others around her.
Mud in Motion's Adult Pottery Classes are for adults to join in the joys of learning about and creating pottery! Students will learn hand-building techniques in clay as well as having the opportunity to try out the pottery wheel.
Mud in Motion will be hosting a STEAM arts camp this summer at The Marketplace at Olive's and assisting with a performing arts camp at BCCC as well as hosting a Stage Craft camp along side that. More information will be coming soon, but check these details to Save the Dates!
Do you have a question about classes or artwork? Send me a message, and I'll get back to you soon!
